Wenna, whose name means “wave of the ocean” in Cornish, believes she was born with a deep love of discovery in her blood. Of British–French nationality with Madagascan and Italian heritage, Wenna’s nomadic upbringing, spanning Cairo, Cameroon, France, Southern California, Arizona, the Middle East and South America, infuses her work with a cosmopolitan sensibility.
A transformative trip to Paris in 2012 changed Wenna’s life. As an admirer of Gabrielle Chanel’s creative journey, Wenna Privé visited Chanel’s iconic Rue de Cambon boutique for the first time. Standing before the mirrored staircase and the intimate salon where Chanel once staged her early runway shows, Wenna was awe-struck, the artistry and craftsmanship left her breathless.
Being then invited to stay at the legendary Hôtel de Crillon only deepened her enchantment with the city’s chic pulse. Though she had visited family in Paris before, this visit lit a fire within her, she was deeply inspired to live as a creative in Europe.
Armed with only her taste, creative talents and endless ideas, Wenna launched a career as an illustrator and designer, and moved to London on her own.
Privé landed work with The Savoy Hotel London and J.W. Marriott and was mentioned in Forbes magazine. Following her dreams of wandering Europe and beyond with a camera in hand, she longed to experience life as artists and visionaries like Da Vinci, Chanel and Ernest Hemingway had, to promenade Parisian streets Audrey Hepburn once did in Sabrina, to sip a cappuccino after visiting artisan markets in Firenze and to watch the fishermen cast their nets on their beautiful boats in Greece.
Today, Wenna Privé is a Tastemaker and Visual Storyteller, between London and the Mediterranean. For over a decade, she has collaborated with luxury brands, design-led properties, and private clients to craft visual stories and stylish spaces that delight and inspire.
Her powerhouse client list includes the likes of The Savoy Hotel London, J.W. Marriott, Wild Mykonos, Hermès Paris, Macaron by Patisse amongst other iconic brands.
